Assemblies

Assemblies provide opportunities for the school community to come together and celebrate achievements and special events.  They also encourage reflection and learning outside the classroom.  Pupils in Pre-Prep 1 (Year 1) to Prep 6 (Year 6) have assemblies on Friday mornings.  Each class teacher announces their Pupil of the Week, and explains why that pupil has been chosen.  During these assemblies, our Parkgate Virtues are also introduced and discussed. House Captains provide a House Point update, the Alfie award is presented for the tidiest classroom, and the Eco Oscar is awarded to the most eco-friendly class.  During assemblies, the children are also encouraged to reflect on current school or cultural events and charity and sporting updates often feature too.  Regular Parents’ Assemblies also provide opportunities for parents to join these special occasions, which also showcase performances such as musical items, ballet, karate or LAMDA.
