What are the timings of the school day? 

Please note that all children can be dropped off from 8:25am with no extra charge. 

Monday-Thursday: 

Nursery9am – 12 noon / 3pm
Reception8:50am – 3:20pm 
PP1 and PP28:40am – 3:30pm 
P3 and P48:30am – 3:45pm
P5 and P68:25am – 3:55pm 

Fridays: 

Nursery9am – 12 noon / 3pm
Reception8:50am – 2:20pm 
PP1 and PP28:40am – 2:30pm 
P3 and P48:30am – 2:45pm
P5 and P68:25am – 2:55pm 

Can I drop off my child before 8:25am?

Yes – our Early Bird Club runs from 7:50am each day, for all children from Nursery to Prep 6. 

Do you offer an After School Club? 

Yes – our After School Club runs until 5:15pm Monday-Thursday and until 4:15pm on Fridays.  This is available every day during term time for all children from Nursery to Prep 6, with the exception of the last day of each term, when there is a lunchtime finish.  A range of other clubs are also available. 

How many classes are there in each year group? 

One or two. 

How many children are in each class? 

Usually 12-16 – with purposefully small class sizes, we are able to tailor the learning experience to your child, enabling them to excel.  Classes are capped at 20 pupils but in practice class sizes are usually smaller than this.

Do you run holiday activities?

We run an Activity Week at the end of each term, in December, March/April and July.  This is available for all children, from Nursery to Prep 6 (Year 6).

Where can I find a school lunch menu? 

Does my child have to attend Nursery every day? 

Children in the Ducklings (ages 2 ½ – 3) usually attend at least 3 mornings per week.  Children in the Cygnets (ages 3 – 4) usually attend at least 5 mornings per week.  However, we understand that families often have specific requirements and we always aim to be flexible where possible. 

When can my child start in the Parkgate House Nursery? 

We welcome children from age 2 ½. 

Can Nursery children have school lunches? 

Nursery children staying for afternoon sessions can have school lunches.  All children bring a healthy snack (no nuts) and a water bottle each day. 

Does the Parkgate House Nursery follow the School term dates?

Are children in the Parkgate House Nursery automatically registered for Reception entry at Parkgate House? 

Yes – our Nursery children are automatically registered for Reception at Parkgate House, and most do stay.
