Nursery Christmas Concert

Donkey For Sale

Hooray shout the children,
They laugh and they cheer
The day of the concert is finally here!

We practised our songs and what to say,
Hoping it would all go well on the day.
Everyone tried so hard with their lines
We went through the routine hundreds of times!

The mummies and daddies and grandparents too,
Waited with patience in the very long queue.
Then the doors opened, a rush to the seats
A view from the front is quite hard to beat!

A little old man with a donkey for sale
A bed for the baby made from a hay bale.
Angels and shepherds and villagers too
All sang to our pretty lady in blue.

On came our youngest and did us so proud
Considering their age, they were ever so loud!
Clapping and singing and smiling along
Before we go, time for just one song!

The audience cheered with a standing ovation
Celebrating such a wonderful occasion.
Donkey for Sale went down such a storm
The feeling around us was all glowing and warm!
